One of the longest running and most highly prized design awards programs in existence, <a href="https://www.idsa.org/awards-recognitions/idea/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">IDEA</a> was originally founded by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) to recognize exceptional achievement in industrial design, but has since grown to highlight design in many connected disciplines across 20 awards categories. IDEA promotes innovation and excellence by recognizing products and services that encourage, inspire, and push industry forward. Ultimately, IDEA honors great design that brings real benefit to users, clients, and society. The IDSA jury recognized both the Lancome HAPTA and the Stryker Xpedition Powered Stair Chair for their user-centered design, functional innovation, and commitment to enhancing accessibility and safety in their respective fields.

HAPTA is a revolutionary handheld smart makeup applicator designed for individuals with limited hand and arm mobility. 
The Challenge: Globally, an estimated 50 million people face challenges with fine motor skills, making everyday tasks like applying makeup difficult. This includes people with hand-motion disorders, arthritis, Huntington’s Disease, and following stroke-related motion challenges. 
The Solution: Utilizing advanced gyroscopic stabilization technology, HAPTA allows users to precisely and steadily apply lipstick. The Stryker Xpedition Powered Stair Chair offers a transformative solution for first responders, enabling them to safely transport patients up and down stairs with the push of a button. 
The Challenge: Traditional stair chairs required significant physical exertion, increasing the risk of injury to both patients and emergency personnel. 
The Solution: The Xpedition’s powered tracks and intuitive controls allow for safe and efficient movement of patients weighing up to 500 lbs., significantly reducing manual handling and improving overall safety.
